Instagram launches redesigned Stories digital camera, donation tools, buying tags for creators
At its annual F8 Developer Conference, Facebook unveiled new capabilities for all its merchandise as it strives to become a greater “privacy-focused” social media platform. Instagram, too, may be sporting new tools and tags within the weeks beforehand. Facebook wants to make the photograph-sharing network busier and more commerce-orientated.
First, at the buying front, Instagram will allow individual creators and influencers – except groups and brands – to promote items immediately on their posts and Stories. These influencers, encompassing “public figures, creators, athletes, publishers, and artists”, can tag objects from companies that can be part of Instagram’s ‘Checkout’ beta program. With this, Facebook aims to enhance monetization at Instagram, which now counts over one thousand million customers.
Next, Instagram is unveiling a Donation sticker on Stories. Users can open their Stories Camera or upload a picture from the digital camera pre-roll, add the brand new donation decal from the tray, pick out a motive or employer to aid, and release a fund-raiser.
